"میرویس آج ابا سے ملنے آئے گا۔" یہ کہنا بھی کتنا مشکل تھا۔

"تمہارے ابا پہلے ہی غصے میں ہیں! اب بار بار یہ ایک بات دہرا کر مزید غصہ مت دلاؤ۔" عفت نے ڈپٹا۔

"اس میں کیا برا ہے؟ آپ لوگ ہی چاہتے ہیں نا کہ میں شادی کرلوں؟ اور اب چونکہ میں کر رہی ہوں تو پھر کیا برائی ہے؟۔"

"تمہارے بابا کو تم سے نہیں میرویس سے مسلہ ہے۔ آخر میرویس ہی کیوں؟ پہلے تم نے اس کی برائیاں کر کر کے اپنے ابا کا دل برا کیا اور اب اس سے شادی کرنا چاہتی ہو؟۔" یہ لڑکی کتنی عجیب تھی۔

"ان پرانی باتوں کا کیا فائدہ امی؟ بہرحال وہ آج ملنے آئے گا۔ ابا سے کہئیے گا کہ پلیز اس کے ساتھ برا برتاؤ نہ رکھیں۔"

"اتنی جلدی کیوں؟ اس سے کہو اتوار کے روز آئے تاکہ ابا کو منانے کے لیے میرے پاس زیادہ وقت ہو۔" عفت کلس کر رہ گئیں۔

"میں نے ہی اس سے کہا ہے کہ آج ملنے آجائے۔ اس کی اماں بھی اب اس کی شادی کے لیے زیادہ انتظار نہیں کریں گی۔" اس نے یہ نہیں بتایا تھا کہ میرویس کی اماں بھی  عشنا کو بہو نہیں بنانا چاہتیں۔

"کون آرہا ہے؟۔" پیچھے سے ابا داخل ہوئے تو عشنا کی سٹی گم ہوگئی۔ وہ اس سے ہی مخاطب تھے۔

"ابا وہ آج میرویس آپ سے ملنے آئے گا۔" خوف بھی تھا مگر بتانا بھی ضروری تھا۔ عفت نے بیٹی کو غصے سے دیکھا۔

ابرار کے تاثرات میں سختی آئی۔

"یعنی تمہارا فیصلہ حتمی ہے؟۔" سخت آواز پر اس کا دل تھوڑی دیر ڈگمگایا۔

"ابا کیا برائی ہے اس میں۔۔" جب اپنا مطلب آیا تو لہجہ معصوم ہوگیا۔۔ اس کے اندر کا شیر اب بلی بن چکا تھا۔

"تم ہی کہتی تھیں کہ وہ بلکل اچھا نہیں بلکہ تمہیں چھیڑتا رہتا ہے۔۔ ارے میں کہتا ہوں ان پانچ سالوں میں کیا ہی بدل گیا جو تم نے اب اس سے شادی کرنے کا فیصلہ کر لیا ہے؟؟۔" لہجہ قدرے برہم ہوا۔

"ابا وہ اب بہت بدل گیا۔ (حالانکہ وہ ذرا نہیں بدلا تھا) فاری کمپنی کا مینجر ہے۔۔ سلیقے مند (بلکل نہیں) اور سلجھا ہوا (مبالغہ آرائی) مرد ہے۔" ایک ایک خوبیاں جڑوں سے نکالتے ہوئے گنوانے لگی۔

"میں اس سے صرف تمہاری وجہ سے ملاقات کر رہا ہوں حالانکہ مجھے کوئی دلچسپی نہیں۔۔" وہ یہ بات پہلے بھی کہہ چکے تھے مگر عشنا مطمئن تھی۔ شادی تو اسی سے ہونی تو پھر پریشانی کس بات کی لی جائے۔ اس نے اٹھتے ہوئے میرویس کو کال ملائی۔

”اترو۔۔۔۔اترو بیڈ سے نیچے اور نکلو میرے کمرے سے۔۔۔۔؟؟؟“ معاً حلیمہ کو بازو سے دبوچ کر



جارحانہ طریقے سے بیڈ سے نیچے اتارتا وہ دانت پر دانت جمائے بولا۔

”چ۔۔چھوڑیں خان۔۔۔آپ ایسا نہیں کرسکتے میرے ساتھ۔۔۔۔میرا نہیں تو کم از کم اپنی اماں حضور کی طبیعت کا ہی خیال کرلیں۔۔۔وہ ابھی تک پوری طرح سےسنبھلی نہیں ہیں۔۔۔“ بری طرح سے احتجاج کرتی وہ سالار خان کو اپنے لفظوں سمیت زہر ہی تو لگی تھی۔
اگلے ہی پل اسنے رک کر اسکے آنسوؤں سے بھیگتے رخسار دیکھے۔
”تم نے جان بوجھ کر مجھے اس عذاب میں مبتلا کیا ہے ناں۔۔۔؟؟؟میری قربت پانے کے لیے میری ہی اماں حضور کو میرے خلاف لے آئی تم۔۔۔۔“ اسکے بازو پر بےاختیار اپنی گرفت سخت کرتا وہ سلگ کر گویا ہوا۔لہجہ اس بار مدھم تھا۔
”نن۔۔نہیں خان۔۔۔آپ۔۔آپ غلط۔۔۔۔“ تکلیف پر ضبط کرتی وہ نفی میں سرہلاتی بولنا چاہ رہی تھی مگر مقابل اسے صفائی کا موقع دینے کو تیار ہی کہاں تھا۔۔۔
”مجھے پانے کی خاطر تم نے میری اماں حضور کو میرے خلاف ایک مہرے کی طرح استعمال کیا۔۔۔اور پھر اماں حضور بھی اپنی ضد پوری کرنے کے لیے مجھے میری مرضی کے خلاف ایک مہرے کے طور پر استعمال میں لائیں۔۔لیکن ان سب میں برباد کون ہوا۔۔؟؟؟میں۔۔۔میری بےبس ذات۔۔۔۔“ اب کہ اسے دونوں بازوؤں سے تھام کر اپنے اندر کا زہر باہر اگلتا وہ تقریباً سبھی سے کافی حد تک متنفرنظر آرہا تھا۔
”میں آپ سے محبت کرتی ہوں۔۔۔۔“ نم پلکوں کو جھپکاتی وہ ایک بار پھر سے سالار خان کے سامنے اعتراف کرگئی
